During a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the host addressed a long-standing rumor by confirming that he and ex-boyfriend John Hill had, in fact, recorded a sex tape back in 2003.
The discussion unfolded while the show played a game called “Things Andy Should Do in 2025.” When Hill quipped that Cohen should “release our sex tape from 2003,” Cohen responded, “You know what, I think there is one — but the format, it’s on some janky format.” He added that the video is likely inaccessible now because it would be difficult to transfer it to a usable medium.

Hill chimed in, joking, “It’s bad.” Cohen agreed, pointing out that the outdated format would likely prevent it from ever being played publicly. “No, I’m glad. We probably can’t even transfer it,” he continued, dismissing speculation from guests who urged, “Yes we can!”
The two dated for approximately three years in the early 2000s, a period during which Hill was part of the original Broadway cast of Hairspray. Cohen later suggested that their breakup was simply due to being in different places personally and professionally.
Despite the revelation, Cohen emphasized there is no intention to share the tape publicly. He and Hill maintain a professional relationship: Hill frequently appears on Cohen’s Radio Andy show, and they continue to reference their time together on WWHL.
Cohen is also focusing on life as a father. He shares two children — Benjamin Allen Cohen (born 2019) and Lucy Eve Cohen (born 2022) — and has spoken publicly about striving to be more present and patient in his role as a parent.
