A Phoenix father, Melvin Harris III, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for manslaughter after beating a man, Leon Armstrong, to death outside a convenience store in August 2018.

Harris' daughter and her friends informed him that Armstrong had attempted to enter his daughter's bathroom stall.

Harris confronted Armstrong and then assaulted him, with Armstrong eventually dying from his injuries, including brain swelling and a fractured nose.

Harris pleaded guilty to manslaughter in connection with the incident.
