Activist and poet Ryan Carson was fatally stabbed in Brooklyn while with his girlfriend, as shown in a shocking video.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. in the Crown Heights neighborhood.
A CCTV recording revealed Carson and his girlfriend sitting at a bus stop bench after returning from a wedding when a man, for no apparent reason, kicked scooters nearby.
He confronted them, asked aggressively, and then stabbed Carson multiple times in the chest.
Carson was taken to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
The assailant remains at large, and Carson, a well-known sustainability advocate, received heartfelt tributes from the community and officials.
