Netflix’s Wednesday Season 2 has been released in two parts, with Part 1 premiering on August 6 and Part 2 set to arrive on September 3. While the series has already captivated audiences with its gothic storytelling, much of the excitement now revolves around Lady Gaga, who will not only appear in the second half of the season but also debut a brand-new original song titled Dead Dance.
In Wednesday Season 2, Part 2, Gaga takes on the role of Rosaline Rotwood, a mysterious and “legendary” Nevermore Academy teacher whose intentions remain cloaked in secrecy. The show’s creators have kept her character details under wraps, sparking speculation about whether she will serve as an ominous adversary or a darkly wise mentor to Wednesday Addams. A teaser trailer for Part 2 even features Gaga’s chilling voiceover warning, “Beware. There will be a price to pay,” fueling fan theories about her character’s true purpose in the story.

Alongside her acting role, Gaga has crafted Dead Dance, an original song written and recorded with her MAYHEM album collaborators Andrew Watt and Cirkut. Musically, the track is described as a blend of dark pop, retro synthesizers, and theatrical drama, perfectly tuned to match Wednesday’s eerie and gothic atmosphere. To further heighten its haunting quality, the music video—directed by Tim Burton—was filmed at Mexico’s infamous Island of the Dolls, giving it an unsettling yet visually striking backdrop.
Both the single and its music video are scheduled to drop in September 2025, aligning with Gaga’s on-screen debut in the series. While her appearance may be brief, insiders have suggested that her character and the accompanying song will play a pivotal role in shaping the season’s narrative tone.
Gaga’s involvement with Wednesday was first teased during Netflix’s Tudum event, where she delivered a performance inspired by the show’s gothic themes. Now, with Dead Dance on the horizon and her enigmatic character set to debut, fans are bracing for an unforgettable blend of supernatural storytelling and Gaga’s signature dark-pop spectacle.
