A 25-year-old member of the United States Air Force, Aaron Bushnell, who set himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in Washington in protest against Israel's actions in Gaza, has died from his injuries, according to the Pentagon.
The incident occurred on Sunday, and Bushnell, hailing from San Antonio, Texas, livestreamed the act on Twitch.
In the livestream, he wore fatigues and declared his refusal to be complicit in what he referred to as genocide before dousing himself in liquid.
The Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, DC, confirmed Bushnell's death on Monday.
