An audio of Los Angeles City Council President Nury Martinez making racist remarks has leaked.
It was posted anonymously on Reddit and obtained by The Los Angeles Times.

Martinez has resigned from the leadership role effective immediately.
"I take responsibility for what I said and there are no excuses for those comments," she said in a statement. "I'm so sorry."
