Bethany Martin and a friend were arrested for posting a video on Snapchat showing them stealing a necklace from a dead body.
The deceased was later identified as Marcus Adams, and his death was ruled a suicide.
Around the same time, several Snapchat users complained that the app was down.
It has been speculated online that Martin's video caused the platform to shut down for a while.
The video was circulating on the app and they wanted to make sure it was removed before a lot of users could see it.
